Shelley Duke to receive Virginia Tech's highest honor
Michele "Shelley" Duke is the embodiment of Virginia Tech's motto, Ut Prosim (That I May Serve). In recognition of her volunteer service and support to the university, Duke will receive Virginia Tech's highest honor, the William H. Ruffner Medal.
Janine Hiller named Richard E. Sorensen Professor of Finance
The Richard E. Sorensen Professorship in Finance was created in 2005 through a gift from SunTrust Banks Inc. It is given to recognize teaching and research excellence.
Center for Arts performance hall named
Virginia Tech has named the performance hall within its Center for the Arts in honor of two couples – Nicholas and Fay Street of Bristol and William C. "Jack" and Sandra Davis of Blacksburg – in recognition of their philanthropic support of the center's construction.
